Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be Held in UAE from October 3 to 20

The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 3 to October 20. This year marks the ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Initially scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh, the tournament was relocated to the Middle East due to political instability in the original host country. Australia enters the tournament as the reigning champion.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, split into two groups of five teams each. Group A consists of India, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Group B includes England, Scotland, West Indies, Bangladesh, and South Africa.

The tournament will kick off with a match between Bangladesh and Scotland in Sharjah, followed by Pakistan facing Sri Lanka at the same venue. Across the event, 23 matches will be played, culminating in the final scheduled in Dubai.

Television Broadcast in India In India, fans can watch the live broadcast of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on the Star Sports network.

According to an official ICC release, “All 23 matches will be available with English commentary, and India’s games will also have live coverage in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada on the Star Sports network.”

Live Streaming in India Live streaming of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be available on the Disney+ Hotstar app and website. For India matches, the streaming service will feature a sign language feed with descriptive commentary.

Tournament Format Each team will play four matches, facing every other team in their group once. The top two teams from both Group A and Group B will advance to the knockout rounds.

The first semifinal is set to take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 17, followed by the second semifinal at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 18. The grand final will be held in Dubai on October 20.
